Ladakh, situated on the banks of the Indus River, is a famous tourist destination in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also known as Last Sangrila, Little Tibet, Moon Land or Broken Moon etc. Apart from the main city ‘Leh’, some major tourist places like Alchi, Nubra Valley, Hemis Lamayoru, Zanskar Valley, Kargil, Ahem Pangang Tso, and Tso Kar and Tso Moriri are located near this area.

Beautiful lakes and monasteries, mesmerizing landscapes and mountain peaks are attractive features here. Common languages spoken in the state include Ladakhi, Purig, Tibetan, Hindi and English. Ladakh is situated at an altitude of 3500 meters above sea level, between the two major mountain ranges of the world, Karakoram and Himalayas.

Paigong Lake

Paigong Lake is called the world’s highest, deepest and longest lake. 980 km from Leh at an
altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level. The salt water Pangang Lake is situated in the region of
Ladakh mountain range. Possibly it is located at the highest altitude in the world. Pangong Lake
150 km Long and four km from 700 feet. Is wide. In a way, this hill is like the sea. Its depth
ranges from 120 to 200 feet. There is no drain of water of this lake, so the salt seam can also be
seen on its shore. Due to the snow falling from the mountains in this Khari lake, many mineral
substances have accumulated, due to which the bottom of it is rising. This lake is shrinking due
to lack of water. This lake remains frozen for three months of the year, on which jeeps can be
run. The color of this lake also varies with the changing of the sun’s rays.

Zanskar Valley

This Valley is one of the best places in Ladakh. This place falls in the Himalayan range. This
valley is covered with hills and snow. Where you will find a different comfort. The best time to visit here is from June to September. Snow is clear during this season.

Nubra and Shyok valleys

Nubra and Shyok valleys

The Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir is known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok
valleys. It is the highest motorable pass in the world. It is filled with tourists crossing Leh and
stops long enough to click some pictures. Adventure bikers from all parts of our country and
around the world visit this mountain pass on their motorcycles for an adventure filled
experience. Khardung La Pass is located on the Ladakh Range, 40 km from Leh, at an altitude
of 18,379 ft (5602 m).

Due to the magnetic power, this hill is famous as Magnetic Hill. This mountain pulls vehicle at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.The law of gravity fails here This hill is also known as Gravity Hill. Here the law of gravity fails. Actually, according to the gravity rule, if something is left on the slope, it will roll. But this does not happen here. Magic is seen from the carIf you leave the car in gear, then it starts moving uphill instead of rolling down the slope. Not only this, if the water is spilled here, it also flows above the bottom.
